Are Six Packs Abs also for Women?

When it comes to six pack abs, most of the time people think of men. However, many women also want to have toned, muscular abs as well. The truth of the matter is that it is possible for women to have six pack abs as well.

Most people, both men and women dream of having a set of six pack abs. If you do not already have them, it is easy to guess that you spend some time looking in the mirror and wishing that you did. When women are working out, chances are that the weight that they want to lose and the muscles that they are trying to tone are in their abdominals and perhaps their glutes.

If you are like most people and want to have stronger abdominal muscles, here are a few tips that you can use in order to be on your way to those six pack abs you desire.

Cardiovascular Exercise

Many people think that they can use a new abdominal machine or exercise to work just their abs in order to achieve a six pack. However, if your abs are covered in fat, you are not going to see any results. Cardiovascular exercises involve moving the extremities in a way that elevates the heart rate. Some examples of cardiovascular exercises including walking, jogging, running, cycling, using a stair master, etc. Really, any exercise that gets your heart rate up will help you lose weight.

Clean Diet

In order to see your abs you are going to need to lower the amount of fat on your body. If you are eating fast food for lunch every day and night, it is time to re-evaluate your diet. It is best to eat several small meals throughout the day. Your meals should consist of a combination of carbs, fats, and protein. Choose lean proteins such as pork, chicken, tuna, ground turkey, etc. Carbohydrates should be limited. Choose foods such as yams, brown rice, and other fruits and vegetables. Avoid eating bread, pasta, and other processed foods. You should lower the amount of fat that you eat, but make sure to keep essential fats in your diet.

Abdominal Exercises

When doing abdominal exercises it is important to focus on your form. You should always focus on the quality of the exercise as opposed to the quantity. You may do 100 sit ups a day, but if you are not doing them correctly you are not going to see the results that you want. Take the time to learn how to do each exercise properly and the results are going to be much better.

Overall, a set of six pack abs looks good on both men and women. If you are like most, you have always dreamed of having a toned, flat stomach. While it is often more difficult for a woman to obtain six pack abs, it is possible if the proper amount of work is put into it.
